All students are encouraged to attend the following trips during the year:


  • Malvern Horse sales (Induction Activity)
  • Horse of the Year Show 5th - 9th October 2016
  • Olympia Horse Show  13th - 19th December 2016
  • Badminton Horse Trials  3rd - 7th May 2017
  • Additional course related trips and educational visit dates will be issued as appropriate.

Your tutor will advise of exact dates at the start of term.


Trip fees are non-refundable unless the student withdraws from the course or on production of a doctor's note.

Scotland Field Study Tour, Spey Bay



Available for Year 2 Level 3 Animal Management students only.


Field study tour to complete "Shorewatch" Cetacean training with the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society. Attend a series of lectures and be amongst the wildlife of the Scottish Highlands.

The trip includes five nights camping, “Shorewatch” Cetacean Surveying course, two educational talks and an opportunity to visit the UKs oldest “Ice house”. Breakfast and dinner is included in the trip and will be served in the clubhouse at the campsite (Spey Bay Golf Club Campsite). Students will also have the opportunity to survey, record and submit data to contribute towards the WDCS population records using their new found “Shorewatch” surveying techniques. Also visits to local national parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty to observe wildlife such as Ospreys, Red Deer and the ever elusive Cappercaillie.
